AHh.. it's the third day of my "vacation." Jason and I spent the last two days at work.. Him having regular days, and me getting to come in with Jason. No waking at 6am! Yay!
But, today Jason's at work, and I'm at home.
We had someone come in to look at our heater. The pilot light keeps going out. The heater never stays on very long. The guy left to go get a new thermostat for us around 11:10 or something, and 10 minutes after he left the heater turned off. It doesn't feel very warm in here.. I just went and checked it. The pilot is out! I repeat the pilot is out!
I wish I looked at the time when he left.. I'll just say it was 10 minutes. Maybe he looked at the time. I looked at my watch when the heater stopped. 11:21am Wait! I called Jason right after dude left. My cell log says I called at 11:10am. So, yeah, the heater went off 10 minutes after the guy left. How nice.. At least I have some what documented time. And I told him that I wanted to be in here when someone came in. So he's going to call when he has the thermostat.
And! He said he'd tell the regular maintenance guy that we need a new kitchen faucet. I'm excited! It's been leaking since about a month or two after we moved in. Jason said it's probably really simple, but we never got around to looking at it. Didn't even get around to telling them something was wrong. =o\ Which is our fault. But.. they know now! And I told them about the water damage already being there.
I hate that they can just walk in at any moment. I wonder if we can get someone over to change the bolt lock.. Is that even legal? I dunno.
So.. the first time the pilot went out, we didn't call for a while, and eventually got tired of not having heat in this cold weather. So, I called asking if I could get a call about how to turn on the pilot light. A day goes by or so, and we wake up to hear someone knocking on our door. Jason went to look, and no one was around. *Shrug* Then, about 5-10 minutes later, we hear another knock and as we're going over to the door, we hear a key in the lock!
Jason ran over to tell the guy to give us a minute to get clothes on (this was Christmas Eve at around 10am).
He comes in.. said that our apartment manager called us already, left a message. After he lit the pilot, I checked my phone. We did get a call from our apartment manager. At 9:49am she left a message asking us to contact her, she'd be in the office until noon, for the guy to come over and re-light it for us. I believe the guy was saying something about he decided to just come in because it was a heating matter, and wouldn't it be nice to have it working when we got home or something?
Ahh.. no. It would be nicer if you got our permission before entering our home.
So, after that, I went down to the office and asked our apartment manager to please get contact with us before sending someone into our apartment un-announced. The end of the conversation was naturally happening when said maintenance guy came walking into the office. *blush* That sucked. He was a really nice guy. Just don't come in without our permission!!
So, the guy is back. He came in around noon. (5 minutes ago) He's replacing the thermostat right now, and then is going to take out the heating unit, clean it in the workshop, replace the thermo coupler and then put it back. And I think he's going to get the regular maintenance guy to replace the filter. Sweet! It looks nasty, all dusty.

Ahh.. anyways. I'm gonna go. I should be doing stuff.. that's not ..this.

There's jail time for killing a coworker with a radio they have tuned in to some "all christmas music all day!" station, isn't it?

Over the weekend, Jason bought a car. It's a '91 Jetta GL, black. I like it. He likes it. It was a pretty good price. It runs pretty well. We used it all weekend. Automatic. This is the car I'm going to finally drive in. I was going to say "learn to drive in" but, it would be more like "finally practice more than just once every 3 months." And I guess that's cool.. We have to get a few things fixed on it before I'd be able to take it to the DMV for my test.. but, I have quite the ways before I have to do that. I need to practice. O.o
And what perfect time to do so, with our getting holiday. Our work holidays are this friday (24th), monday (27th) and friday (31st). And, Jason and I took the three days in between off, so, we have 10 days in a row off! Yay! That should mean time to practice, and catch up on sleep.. and just play catch up, basically. I hope this week is better than our last week long holiday. I think it will be. Minus the holiday celebrations with family. I guess it's not too terrible.. We only have to see them for two of the ten days. ;o) We do, actually, love our families. Just not as much to see them everyday. =o)

yeah.. anyways.. that's an update.

Kisses~

Jeez.. it's been forever. But isn't that my song always?

Exciting stuff:
Work is thinking of getting a second shift, and I told my supervisor that I'd like to try for 'lead' of second shift. The times that I need to be at work will be drastically different (Now: 7am-3:30, 2nd shift: 2:15pm-10:45pm). I feel that they would be more accommodating than my current ones, though.
My super is supportive of me being lead. He thinks I could do a good job. Though, I have to be careful of being condecending, apparently. Two people have complained about it. I can guess that one was fairly recent. And she so deserved it. The other.. well, she doesn't work here anymore, and I can't remember ever being like that to her.. But, oh well. My supervisor just said I should work on it. He also said that he doesn't have the last say in who gets it. So, I have my fingers crossed.

In other news.. More holidays are coming up and my family is in crazy time.
My mom and sister fought, and Lil is no longer living there.. I think she's working her living situation out now. And.. my dad.. well, my dad's in kinda bad shape living an hour from Modesto. It's cold up there at night.. but he has space heaters.
Oh.. and I forgot my mom's birthday. It was the 11th of this month. I got a text message from her boyfriend the day after asking if I told her Happy Birthday. I didn't reply.
I got her a couple framed photographs of butterflies. I hope she likes them. I don't really know what to do, though.. Like, should I see her face to face? Or should I just ignore it all and put on a smile like everyone else does?
I dunno. This is stressful for me. My mom is already pretty fragile. I even got a call from her the next day.. she told me when we were all getting together on Christmas Eve (2pm.. but at whose house? I think she said my Grandma's..). She sounded down.. but I didn't ask. Now.. I just feel like an asshole, and I want to avoid it.

Oh well. Now I'm depressed. I need to go. Take care, y'all.

Pure rubbish that I prob. will leave neglected when I get bored with it.
