So.. an email went around with the url to this little clip called something like
EPIC 2014.
"In the year 2014,
The New York Times has gone offline.
The Fourth Estate's fortune has waned.
What happened to the news?
And what is EPIC?"
----------------------------------------------------
In other news, I tried my kombucha tea last night.
If I've never mentioned it before, here's a history of my interaction with the kombucha.
Oct 31, 2004- Tried it for the first time from a friend. Went to buy a glass of it at a party I was at. Ended up buying a culture to brew my own.
Nov 10, 2004- Finally got the brewing started with my two cultures. I'm working with two jars.
Nov 17, 2004- Whew.. still smells like vinager. And there doesn't seem to be a new culture forming. I hope I didn't kill it with sitting in the fridge for 10 days..
Nov 23, 2004- Ahh.. so it didn't die! Yay! New cultures have formed. I tasted it. It was tangy. Maybe still a little sweet. I took half of one jar, and poured it with dried cranberries into another smaller jar and sealed it. This will sit for 5 days, then it's ready to drink. I hope it's good.. The other half of the jar, I left with the culture in the cupboard. And then I poured dried cranberries into the other jar, with the culture still in it. I wonder if things will taste different.. (Recap: I have three different jars now. One that has the (1) original tea + culture, another that has (2) the culture & tea + dried cranberries and the last that is (3) the tea + dried cranberries sealed to carbonate.)
So.. there you have it. I'm going to let things sit for a few days. Then I get to make the nutrient with the berry stuff. I wish that it wasn't almost a month since I last had it.. I don't know if it tastes okay or not!
